Scissor nail clippers for puppies and small dogs
For dogs with thin nails that are hard to hold still: nails cut cleanly in one controlled motion, with scissor blades that fit small paws in the Nails Routine.
Trimming a puppy’s nails at home is finally possible without crushing the nail, without multiple cuts on the same toe or without the paw slipping out of the tool.
Cuidar: the product chosen after the 7-criteria score to give precise control for the first routine.
- Scissor blade: it cuts from both sides and the nail does not splinter, so the puppy does not learn to expect a tug.
- Small format: it fits a puppy's translucent nail, so you can start the routine in the first month.
- Manual and silent: no motor, no vibration, so it works with dogs that back away from any device.
- Low entry price: you can keep it alongside the grinder without doubling the spend, so you cut and round in one session.

Cut only the white tip of the nail. If you cut the live part and it bleeds, apply pressure with gauze and call your vet if it does not stop.
What it is and what it is not
For the first weeks at home, when the puppy's nail is still translucent and a full-size clipper will not fit. Also for adult small dogs with thin nails, and for the dew claw.
The scissor blade cuts from both sides, so the nail does not splinter the way it can with a guillotine. Holding the nail up to the light you can see the live part and take only the tip. You notice it in how often the session ends with no blood and no drama.
It is not for the thick nail of a large dog: that is what the guarded clipper or the grinder are for. It does not round the edge either, so a few seconds with a file afterwards helps. And it is not a veterinary product: if the nail is split or bleeding, your vet decides.
Manual tool, reference PP-MS-26-015, medium size, bagged individually per the manufacturer's spec sheet.
Chosen for the scissor format and the 50-unit minimum, which lets us carry it without tying up stock.
How to use
- Sit the dog down and hold the paw with the pad facing up.
- Hold the nail up to the light and find the pink area, the live part.
- Cut only the white tip, two or three millimetres clear of the pink.
- Run a file over the edge for a few seconds to round it off.
- Reward and end the session even if some nails are still to do.
Frequency: every two or three weeks for a puppy, every three or four for a small adult.

The usual way
What you have tried and why it does not last
Using a large guillotine clipper
The nail splinters and the puppy learns to fear the sound and the pull.
Waiting for the groomer
You book every three weeks and still have to manage the dew claw at home.
Trying human nail scissors
They crush instead of cut and the session ends with stress for both.
The PerroAmante way
Cuts a puppy's thin nail with a scissor blade, more controllable than a guillotine clipper.
Frequently asked questions
Is 4,90 € enough for proper clippers?
Yes. It covers the first months until you add a grinder if needed, avoiding repeated small purchases.
Will it work on my adult small dog?
The scissor blade suits thin nails; for thicker nails the guarded clipper or grinder is the next step.
Should the vet show me how?
The tool is for routine tip cuts. If the nail splits or bleeds, the vet handles it.
Where is it made?
The manufacturer meets the compliance documentation we require for every tool we list.
The expensive alternative
